Ravikant Jha is an internationally acclaimed Indian painter and Artist-Curator based in Himachal Pradesh India. He was born in 1979 at Waraseoni Distt. Balaghat (M.P.). He took his BFA from Indira Kala Sangeet Vishwavidyalaya Khairagarh (C.G.) in (2003) and then completed his MFA from Indira Kala Sangeet Vishwa Vidyalaya Khairagarh (C.G.) in (2005).Ravikant Jha?s art is the art that does not attempt to represent an accurate depiction of a visual reality but instead uses shapes, colors, forms and gestural marks to achieve its effect. The term can be applied to art that is based on an object, figure, or landscape, where forms have been simplifie d or schematized. Ravikant Jha?s paintings are very interesting and fresh in their abstract compositions. There is a kind of magical transformation Ravikant creates in the world of inanimate objects. There are illusions of movement and forms so that even ?Red woman? Objects like ?Mauri?,? Use me?, ?Performer?, and all seem to be living things. A certain touch of abstraction and a sophisticated color language add to the overall appeal of the work. ?Flower Sealer?, ?Sewing Machine?, ?Nilli Gajani?(Nilambari) by Ravikant Jha extends the possibility of transformation of the subject for relating to thought, in this case being a performance. His art is often seen as carrying a moral dimension, in that it can be seen to stand for virtues such as order, purity, simplicity, spirituality, and Inspired by Indian mythology. His art has been with us in one form or another for almost a century now and has proved to be not only a long-standing crux of cultural debate but a self-renewing, vital tradition of creativity.
